John qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1986 and then worked in several mixed practices before settling at the Glenthorne Vets Ltd. in 1999.
Although willing to tackle any species John is now mainly involved with the farm animal side of the practice. Glenthorne provides veterinary care for some of the country’s top dairy farms, on which John spends most of his daily work managing dairy cow fertility and optimising herd health.
Outside work John is a keen cook and enjoys travelling, walking, birdwatching, rugby and horse racing. John’s interest in animals has passed on to his children, with daughter Rosie working for the charity Save the Rhino and son Tom recently qualifying as a vet.
